Professor Ismail Adua Mustapha is a seasoned legal academic and scholar, currently serving as the Head of the Department of Business Law. His areas of specialization include Civil Aviation Law, Contract Law, and Commercial Law, with a focused research interest in Civil Aviation Security Law.

He obtained his Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree from the University of Ilorin in 2004 and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2006 upon completion of his Barrister-at-Law (B.L) training at the Nigerian Law School. He holds a Master of Laws (LL.M) degree from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife (2011), and earned his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Civil Aviation Law from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) in 2014.

Professor Ismail is actively engaged in research and academic discourse in his fields of specialization and has contributed to the development of legal scholarship through teaching, publications, and conference presentations. His work particularly addresses legal and regulatory frameworks in civil aviation, with emphasis on security law and he has published over 30 articles in both national and international journals of repute.

He is a member of several professional bodies, including the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), the Muslim Lawyers Association of Nigeria (MULAN), and the Nigerian Association of Law Teachers (NALT).
